Can I make a payment with Capitec?
We apologize for any inconvenience caused making payment with the older Capitec Debit Cards. Capitec does not allow transactions through browsers unless your Capitec Card has been registered for online shopping; almost are but the older cards are not. Follow the steps below by using the Instant EFT option. As an alternative you can make payment using the Direct Bank Transfer option and pay via a PC or your mobile phone.
Payfast and Capitec Integration
Good news! Instant EFT by PayFast now supports Capitec Bank as well as Investec.
You can also make use of your Global One card from Capitec to make payments via the credit card option when you checkout.
In the unlikely event that your card is not registered for online shopping (almost all are), please contact your nearest Capitec branch to activate it.
Steps to make an Instant EFT payment with Capitec:
When you are ready to checkout, you will be redirected to PayFast’s secure payments page.
Click the Instant EFT payment method.
Once Instant EFT has been selected, you will be prompted to choose your bank (Capitec) and enter your internet banking credentials (account number, not card number and PIN).
Next, you will select the bank account from which the payment should be made and click the pay button to generate the Instant EFT payment.
To complete the transaction, you will need to confirm the payment with a one time pin or by approving a mobile authentication message sent from your bank (there are a few verifications).
A payment notification is sent as soon as the EFT has been verified. This happens instantly, so there is no delay or waiting period between you paying and the merchant receiving the funds.
